5 After 5 Books to Read this Fall

5 After 5 Link Party Books to Read this Fall #5after5 #books

Welcome back to the 5 after 5! After a long week come and share your list of 5! Each week we will have a new topic for the following Saturday! So think of your great 5 After 5 List and come link up with us! This week is Books to Read this Fall!

I love to read! And lately I have been reading more than one book at a time. Really have been trying to expand my selection in books choices this year. I have to say there are a lot of classical series that I didn’t read as a child that I really want to now! I have also found some new to me authors this year too! I had a really hard time listing just 5 books sooo…. I’m going to list non fiction and fiction  because lets be honest fall is about 3 months long and I am definitely going to read more than 5 books 🙂 I hope to finish all of these!

Books to Read this Fall

Non Fiction

when-children-love-to-learnWhen Children Love to Learn by Elaine Cooper

I actually started this book this summer and haven’t finished it. It has been excellent so far so I do plan on finishing it before the year is out. I have been reading a lot about CM/Classical philosophy of Education. So far I love everything about CM!

breaking-busy

Breaking Busy by Alli Worthington

This book has been an excellent book. I’m about 3/4 of the way through it. If you feel like your always busy then this is a book for you!

mere-christainity

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis

I’ve had this book on my book shelf for awhile and plan on starting it here soon. I’ve heard excellent reviews on this book.

bad-arguments

Bad Arguments by Ali Almossawi

My hubby bought me this book. Learning doesn’t stop when we graduate from school. We should really be life learners! And there is so much to learn. This is a fun illustrated book.

it-starts-with-food

It Starts with Food by Dallas Hartwig & Melissa Hartwig

I started this book and didn’t finish it. And I really want to! I will probably just start back at the beginning as it was awhile ago.

Fiction

a-lady-unrivaled

A Lady Unrivaled by Roseanna M White

Roseanna M White is a new author to me this year.  I have absolutely loved everything I have read by her so far! This series is the series that first introduced me to Ms. White’s books.

the-screwtape-letters

The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis

I actually would love to listen to the audio series done by Focus on the Family when it comes out. Before I do though I’m going to read it!

the-second-half

The Second Half by Lauraine Snelling

I love Lauraine Snelling especially her Red River Series! I don’t tend to read fiction set in modern times but I have loved other books by her that are set in present day so I thought I would give this a try.

grace-in-thine-eyes

Grace in Thine Eyes by Liz Curtis Higgs

I have never read a book by Higgs. I have started this one and so far it has been excellent.

the-road-we-traveled

The Road We Traveled by Jane Kirkpatrick

This is a new to me author…like I said I’m trying to read some new authors this year 😉 I tend to find one I like and read everything written by them…I actually did this with Melanie Dickerson last month… fairy tells retold. They were wonderful and so much better than Disney movies 😉

Bonus: I’m Reading A-Loud The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis to my daughter.

What books do you plan on reading this fall? Let me know I love seeing what others are reading! If you use goodreads I would love to connect over there!  Leave me a comment or link up your own 5 after 5 Books to read this fall!

Next Week’s topic is Favorite Soups

That’s right, every post will be read, pinned and tweeted!
Every Saturday, just stop by to add your own list of five. Then pop over and read as many other post as you’re able to each week- treat it like a true party and really mix it up and mingle with our fun little community!
The rules are simple: just write your own list following the prompt each week (feel free to interpret it loosely- or in a unique way!), follow each of the three host on the social media channel of your choice. and then get into the spirit of the party by grabbing your favorite beverage or snack and reading the list of other party goers.

  1. I don’t often read current-day fiction, either! I am intrigued by Breaking Busy – I had to go put it on hold at the library! I love how you cheated and did 5 fiction & 5 nonfiction! Have a great weekend!
