We love to read around here and there are some simple things that I do to fit in more time to read!
5 Ways to Fit in More Reading
Early Mornings
I get up really early in the morning to get a start on my day before it get chaotic with all the littles here during the day. I try to read for 10-20 minutes in the morning. It’s amazing how much you can read in a week.
Read-A-Louds
I didn’t grow up reading a lot of the children’s classics. So now that my own daughter is to an age where she will listen to chapter books I get to enjoy some of them with her for the first time.
Outside Time
I know this won’t work for everyone but it does for me! We spend a lot of time outside. While the kids play outside I find that I can get in some extra reading between making sure the kids are getting along and pushing little ones on swings.
Audio Books
This is a new one for me this year and I have loved it so far. I will put one on in the morning or at night when I’m cleaning up the kitchen or doing extra baking. I will also put on a children book during lunch time as they enjoy it and so do I have found that I enjoy this more than music sometimes!
Unplugging
Instead of being on the computer or phone I spend time reading during the day and before bed. Five minute here or there adds up! It is so addicting to just scroll aimlessly. What better way than to get in the habit of picking up a book instead!
Bonus- During baby feeding times
Ok so I own a daycare and when I have to sit to feed babies a bottle is the perfect time to pick up my kindle and read! I wish I would have done this with my daughter when I was nursing. I tend to purchase fiction for my kindle when I can get books for free or 99 cents. I have found some new to me authors this way too!
How have you found extra time to fit in more reading? Come link up your reading post this weekend or leave a comment!

I used to read on my Nook while I nursed!
