OK so I am sure you have all heard of HIIT workouts. I have done them on DVDs with Lindsey Brin and such. They are great! They’re short and to the point and you can fit them in 20 minutes or less. Lately I have been into using my treadmill again now that we have it set up in a place where I can easily access it (we’re done with major house projects!!!) and now that the weather is cooler outside it’s great to have!
Well a few of the HIIT Treadmill workouts that I found would kill me like Jillian Micheals ! No really unless your already a runner, not overweight and have some endurance I don’t think you could do them. And let’s be honest here! I’m a big girl that needs to lose weight! Running a 7 or 8 or 9 mph that they have you do is just not going to happen unless I want to fly off my treadmill and smack a wall. So as I have got back into using my treadmill I worked on trying to put together a reasonable HITT Treadmill Workout for me a big girl….one day I will not be in this category! Anyways this is what I have done for the last couple of weeks and I do plan on increasing my time a little, speed , incline as my endurance increases!
Big Girl HIIT Treadmill Workout
Warm up 4 minutes 3.2 mph
Minutes 5-14 Jog at 4.2 mph Walk at 3.2 mph (every other minute)
Minutes 15-20 Jog at 4 mph for 20 seconds, 5 mph for 20 seconds, 6 mph for 20 second then walk at 3.2 for 1 minute
Cool Down Walk at 3 mph for 3-5 minutes
