Big Girl HIIT Treadmill Workout

BG HITT Treadmill Workout Getting fit one day at a time

OK so I am sure you have all heard of HIIT workouts. I have done them on DVDs with Lindsey Brin and such. They are great! They’re short and to the point and you can fit them in 20 minutes or less.  Lately I have been into using my treadmill again now that we have it set up in a place where I can easily access it (we’re done with major house projects!!!) and now that the weather is cooler outside it’s great to have!

Well a few of the HIIT Treadmill workouts that I found would kill me like Jillian Micheals ! No really unless your already a runner, not overweight and have some endurance I don’t think you could do them. And let’s be honest here! I’m a big girl that needs to lose weight! Running a 7 or 8 or 9 mph that they have you do is just not going to happen unless I want to fly off my treadmill and smack a wall. So as I have got back into using my treadmill I worked on trying to put together a reasonable HITT Treadmill Workout for me a big girl….one day I will not be in this category!  Anyways this is what I have done for the last couple of weeks and I do plan on increasing my time a little, speed , incline as my endurance increases!

Big Girl HIIT Treadmill Workout

Cool Down  Walk at 3 mph for 3-5 minutes

I have loved doing HIIT Treadmill Workout!  What do you do for HITT Treadmill Workout?

  1. This looks like a great workout! well done you. I don’t have a treadmill at home but will definitely be trying this out next time i hit the gym #weightlosswednesday

  2. Epic post and too true – some of the Treadmill workouts out ridiculous unless you are already a seasoned runner. Can be too much for the system to handle when you first start out.

Totally confused by the mph conversion. My gym treadmills are in kph. I am trying to stick to the Jeff Galloway running method – to a point. I warm up for 3 minutes and then alternate running at a gradient for 3 mins and walking on flat for 2. The heart is going up and down as you are running faster in those 3 mins and actually I have found I am breaking my PB’s even with walking thrown in. You need to find the rhythm that suits you and you can sustain.

Thank you for linking up with #WeightLossWednesday – epic to read a running post. Hope you can join in this week! Sim xx
