Book Review–Edenbrook

I love to read! When I have a spare moment that is usually what I am doing ๐Ÿ™‚  Last year I kept a list of all the books I read. I stop writing it down after while. I read about 50 books.   So this year I thought I would keep track on Pinterest. I made two boards– One of the books I am reading this year and one for the books that I read to my two year old.

If your looking for any suggestions you can check out my board here or here (toddler books.)
I will probably write a few reviews of some of the books that I read!

The first review is a book that I read at the end of December. So far it has been my favorite one that I have read lately!

A Proper Romance
by Julianne Donaldson

“Marianne Daventry will do anything to escape the boredom of Bath and the amorous attentions of an unwanted suitor. So when an invitation arrives from her twin sister, Cecily, to join her at a sprawling country estate, she jumps at the chance. Thinking sheโ€™ll be able to relax and enjoy her beloved English countryside while her sister snags the handsome heir of Edenbrooke, Marianne finds that even the best laid plans can go awry.

From a terrifying run-in with a highwayman to a seemingly harmless flirtation, Marianne finds herself embroiled in an unexpected adventure filled with enough romance and intrigue to keep her mind racing. Will Marianne be able to rein in her traitorous heart, or will a mysterious stranger sweep her off her feet? Fate had something other than a relaxing summer in mind when it sent Marianne to Edenbrooke.”

I heard if you love Jane Austin you will love this book. At first I was a little skeptical. I was not hooked right away. It took about 4 chapters into the book  before I was hooked. The setting is the same era as Jane Austins books. The language used makes reading Edenbrooke easier to read compared to Austin; but doesn’t take away from the time period it is set in. It is a proper romance for sure! It was a wonderful love story. It was a pleasure to read and be able to relate to the  characters and what they faced. Not only did this drawl my attention because of the romance but it was filled with humor and suspense. Once I was hooked I had a hard time putting it down! ( I actually stayed up until 2 am to finish it one night!) I would highly recommend this book to anyone one loves a good clean romance story!

I look forward to reading her other book Blackmoore! (Just waiting for it to arrive in the mail!)
