I haven’t been writing a weekly Healthy Fit ‘n Lean post for the last couple of weeks. Mainly because I have been Writing about The Battle to Lose Weight Series. I did still want to share my goals, successes and my struggles. So I thought I would do a monthly post instead of a weekly one.
Honestly for the last 3-4 weeks I have been under the weather for a few days each week. It seems like I get better I have several days where I feel fine, I get back on track then boom. Sick all over. Headache, sinus pressure, earache and sore throat. I don’t want to exercise at all and become a little lax with my diet. Have you ever been there? I feel just awful and regret not eating right and miss exercising. And then you know it’s hard to get back into the routine when you have been off.
I have found that I need to get over this rut and fight this battle! I need to keep fighting even if I hit obstacles along the way. I need to work through them and not get off course.
Healthy Fit ‘n Lean 2016 March Fitness Goals
Made to Crave (by Lysa Terkeurst)
I have finished reading this book. I will still share one chapter a month and what I learned from it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is working on losing weight.
Chapter 7 I’m Not Defined by the Number
The title of this chapter is one that we all struggle with…the number on the scale. “Like many women, I’d struggle with a flawed perception of myself. My sense of identity and worth were dependent on the wrong things.”
Our identity is base on God’s Word, who we are in Christ. ” His truth the foundation not only for our identity but how we deal with food? The Holy Spirit uses God’s word stored up inside of us, to nudge us, remind us, redirct us, empower us, and lead us on to victory.” As Christians we need to listen to the Holy Spirit.
” Not only do our actions need to reflect the self-control the Holy Spirit affords us, but our sense of identity need to reflect His Presence in our lives as well.”
“We can step on the scale and accept the numbers for what they are-an indication of how much our body weighs-and not an indication of our worth.”
For the month of March my goal is to continue working through Lindsey Brin’s Postnatal Slimdown DVD. I have 7 weeks left. Since being sick so much I have only worked out about 2-3 times a week. This needs to change! I should finish her calendar a couple of weeks into April. I would also like to start using my treadmill more or walking outside as the weather gets nicer. I would also like to complete 15 miles this month.
I don’t plan my menus a month in advance 🙂 I am still following the general principles of Trim and Healthy Mama. We already ate a diet that was more whole food- not a lot of boxed/canned meals, but recently we have been going more non-gmo organic. There is so much information out there about food and health. It can become overwhelming at times. Here are some of the things I have been reading (or are on my list).

Don’t keep treats in the house. Treat are treats, they’re for once in a while not every day or even every week. It helps to keep the temptation to a minimum. Keep healthy snack for kids better yet make your own crackers for the kiddos if need be!
My goal for the month of March is to lose 8-10 lbs.
Chose one health food book a read it. Choose book from above if you need some help! I have not read Nourishing Traditions yet so that is the one I will be reading this month for sure!
What are your fitness goals for the month of March? Leave a comment I would love to hear and encourage you on your journey!
