Healthy Fit ‘n Lean 2016 Week 7

I started the week strong last week…then the stomach bug hit for about 2 1/2 days. I went to bread and crackers, broth, bananas. Anything to try to help. It was not fun! I have enjoyed working out at night. It does wake me up but over all I have been able to be a more consistent with it. I didn’t exercise when I was sick but once I was better I finished up my workout schedule for the week by doubling up one day. I’m glad to be back to feeling normal for sure!  I didn’t beat myself up for not sticking to my menu and what not because lets face it when your sick to just have deal with it.

Made to Crave (by Lysa Terkeurst)

Chapter 6 Growing Closer to God

This was an awesome chapter just like the rest! Let me just share a few quotes from this chapter. If you haven’t read the book yet I highly recommend it!

“Growing closer to God has a whole lot less to do with any action we might take and a whole lot more to do with positioning our hearts toward His.”

Lysa was asked, ” How do you grow closer to God?” and answered, “By making the choice to deny ourselves something that is permissible but not beneficial. And making this intentional sacrifice fore the sole purpose of growing closer to God.” (LK 9:23)

“Yes, I want to lose weight. But this journey is so much more than just that. It really is about learning to tell myself no and learning to make wiser choices daily. And somehow becoming a women of self-discipline honors God and helps me to live the godly characteristic of self-control.” (Gal. 5:22)

Lysa goes on to how issues with food can hold us back from our calling and commitment to Christ.

Self control is hard but it is something we all need!

I exercised 3 times this week 🙂 I am doing the Moms into Fitness DVD Workout schedule for their Postnatal Slimdown DVD. I started on week 3 as I had already been loosing doing this DVD for a couple of weeks. I am following the schedule now 🙂  You can some of her workout on you tube 🙂 I don’t know why but I have never been good a doing ab workout consistently. This is one of my goals for the month. Lindsey’s are perfect for beginning abs and works to advance it at a great pace!

Here is my menu for this week. My meal plan color coded to go along with THM. Red is S meal, Orange is E meal and Green is FP  meal. Need some new THM salad dressing options I know I have 🙂

week 7

Aiming to lose 10 lbs in February. These are the areas I am focusing on this month.

  • Healthy eating- For February I plan on following Trim Healthy Mama still. I need to work at being more consistent with logging my food. I do follow my menu for the most part put I want to be more accountable to writing it down every time I eat through out the day.
  • Exercise-  Complete Moms into Fitness DVD Workout schedule for their Postnatal Slimdown DVD.  I also want to complete 20 miles on the tread mill through out the month along with being consistent in following an ab routine.
  • Drinking water– drink a gallon of water each day.
  • Sleep- Consistent sleep routine (within 1/2 hour)
  • Vitamins- Take daily

Quote of the Week

“She Believed she could so she did. Believe in yourself.”

Bible Verse

Galatians 5:22-23- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (self control): against such there is no law.

This one is for women…When it’s that time of month don’t weigh yourself.

Weight Loss

See tip above 😉

Having a hard time getting all that water in? I know I do! Fill your water bottle up first thing in the morning and finish it before having coffee. Then refill it and drink another one before you eat lunch.  Drink another one before dinner. And drink one when/after you exercise!

Last week challenge was to start at journal. I did and have loved it! Makes you be honest with yourself. Really see the struggles you are dealing with.

How did you do on your Healthy Fit ‘n Lean 2016 week 7 journey?
