Protein Packed Fruit Smoothie

I love me a great smoothie! Especially in the summer when it is hot outside. It is a great way to cool down and a great way to get in all those fruit and veggies into your diet. Spinach anyone! As I have been doing terrafit and THM, one of the things I have learned is to incorporate protein into every meal. This protein packed fruit smoothie does just that! It is great in the morning after a workout or for an afternoon snack! Another thing I love about smoothies is my daughter loves them! And she loves to make them with me 🙂

Protein Packed Fruit Smoothie

This recipe makes 2 servings

1/2 c. cottage cheese

1/2 c. Greek yogurt

1 c. almond milk

1 c. frozen berries

1 tsp. Erin’s Green Drink mix

You can add in a handful of spinach too! I didn’t this time!

Add your ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth. I like my smoothies thick but you can adjust the amount of almond milk you add to get the consistency you want! Erin’s Green drink mix is from the Bulk Herb store. I love it! It taste great and gives you want you need! It does give your drink a cinnamon taste 🙂

Drink up! Bon Appetit!

  1. Hey Sam! Since this pregnancy I’ve been taking organic, whole food (not synthetic) vitamins and supplements. One thing that I drink every morning is a protein shake. It has all 22 amino acids that make up protein (most protein shakes don’t have all of them). I know this post isn’t necessarily about protein; it just sparked my thoughts about my own shake that I take. I’m in the process of writing up a blog post about synthetic vitamins and supplements vs. whole-food vitamins and supplements. So much to learn! But you’re a healthy gal so I thought you would be interested. As far as health goes, there’s so much to know! And vitamins and supplements are only a tiny bit of it! I’m learning slowly as I go along what my body needs and doesn’t need each day. Anyway, sounds like a tasty shake! I do something like this during the day when I need a boost: yogurt, fruit, kefir, spinach…something like that. 🙂 Have a great day!

      1. That’s funny because Darren was the same way…a little bit resistant to change. And everything I read online and was researching was telling me that we needed to eat organically and more simply (less processed foods, more fresh). It took Darren a while to come around. A lot of prayer! It was so frustrating to me because he thought I was being a conspiracy theorist about everything. Now he’s pretty much on board with anything that leads to better health. IT’s really affected our food budget each month – doubled it! But we’re investing in our health so it keeps us healthier and not having to go to the doctors as much. Hooray for Doug coming around!!!
